The students of Nigeria Institute of Journalism has written their first Semester examination on Jan 29, 2018.

The examination which was expected to start a week earlier, was postponed due to lack of payment of fees by some students and inadequate preparatuon on the part of student.

In an interview with an HND one student, Omolara Ogunwale she said, she was glad the examination was postponed because she was not adequately prepared and might not have performed to satisfaction, the exam was held on the initial date it was postponed because of lack of preparation, the time between resumption from christmas break and initial date of the exam was too short for adequate preparation, and these are other academic activities that need to be completed,  these and many more would have made me perform below par if the exam went ahead as planned" she said.

The management explained that the postponement of the exam from 22nd of January  to 29th of January became inevitable because of majority of the students have not paid their  fees. Hence they  had to postpone the exam after much pleadings from students representative council.
