Eko Disco Decry Attacks On Staff

Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) has decried the incessant attacks on staff of the company in some communities within the company’s operational territory.


The MD/CEO of the Disco, Engr. Adeoye Fadeyibi who expressed disaffection at the turn of events told journalists that a man alleged to have inflicted matchete cut on a staffer of the company have been arrested.

He stated that the staff was carrying out official duties at Petedo area of Agabara, Ogun State under the Agbara/Badagry Business District of the company. According to him, the suspect was said to have committed the offence when the victim, in company of some of his colleagues was in the area to effect disconnection of defaulters of EKEDC electricity bill.

Fadeyibi who commended the efforts of the police in getting the suspect arrested expressed confidence that other accomplices in the case would soon be apprehended by the police and brought to book accordingly. He further said the company would explore all legal means to ensure that perpetrators of such criminal acts would not go unpunished.

Meanwhile, he disclosed that apart from working with law enforcement agencies to get perpetrators of physical attack arrested, the company’s legal department has been instructed to ensure diligent prosecution of cases of violent attack on staffers of the company.

He therefore advised those who have complaints against the conduct of any of the company’s staffer to explore the various platforms provided by the company for customers to lodge their complaints instead of resorting to violent attack.
