Benefits Of Charcoal

BENEFITS_OF_CHARCOAL!

Charcoal is one of the most disregarded products at home. We only see the need for it when it is time to set fire for Banku.
However, if you really need first aid, charcoal is something you need to have on you all the time. You might not know this but it is one of the most medicinal products you can have at home due to its poison extraction ability.
In case you never gave it much attention, this is the time to do so. Here are *13* benefits of charcoal you never thought about.

1. *#Preventing_Odour*.
Does your shoe smell bad? Just get some charcoal & put it in them. Do you have any bad smell in your room? Drop some charcoal where you suspect the smell could be coming from. Does your fridge or freezer smell? Put a piece of charcoal in it. Do you have strong body odour? Just make a powder out of charcoal & use.
Charcoal is very good at getting rid of bad smell. Ever wondered why your parents always scooped out the ash from the coal pot to pour in the hen coop or toilet before sweeping? That was to get rid of the odour.

2. *#Keeping_Food_Fresh*.
If you want your vegetables to be fresh all the time, just make a solution out of charcoal & leave your vegetables in them. Thank us later.

3. *#Removing_Toxins_From_Food*.
These days, people complain about the use of fertilizers on plants & vegetables, making them unwholesome & poisonous. If you have charcoal, you don’t need to worry about this. All you need to do is leave the vegetables in a charcoal solution overnight & it’ll take care of the toxins. If you suspect any food contains too many chemicals, just drop them in a charcoal solution for some hours & you’re good to go.

4. *#For_Teeth_Whitening*.
If you want to whiten your teeth, pay no attention to all these adverts on whitening chemicals & technology. Just get yourself some charcoal & grab hold of a plantain stalk. Make a powder out of the charcoal, mash the tip of the plantain stalk, dip it into the charcoal powder & brush your teeth with it for a week.

5. *#Restoring_Soup_That_Went_Bad*.
Did your groundnut soup or palm nut soup go bad? No need to worry about pouring it all away. Just put it back on fire & drop a piece of charcoal in it. This will extract all the bad taste & smell & restore the soup to its fresh state.

6. *#Detoxifying*.
Do you have a hangover out of a drink out with friends the previous night? Just have some charcoal with you & chew on it. To make it more effective, make a nice solution out of it & drink. You’re good to go.

7. *#Neutralizing_Alcohol*.
If you mistakenly did some wild mixing & feel it can knock you out, just add some charcoal to the mixture & your problem is solved. Or if you took in too much alcohol, just drink some charcoal solution & you’re good to go.

8. *#Healing_Wounds*.
Do you have a situation where someone’s wound has become so infected to the state doctors are saying they have to cut the affected area? Don’t stress over it, get a large amount of charcoal powder & pour it on the wound. This will extract all the poison from the wound & also help it heal faster. If you have a cut & you want to treat it fast, just get some powdered charcoal & pour on it.

9. *#Water_Filtration*.
Do you feel your water is contaminated? You don’t need all these products on the market. Charcoal can do better, just drop some amount of it in it. Don’t worry about the colour, it is safe, you can even chew on charcoal. It is far safer than eating chicken from KFC.

10. *#Skin_Cleansing*.
Do you have pimples, acne or any skin disease you really want to get rid of or do you want a very smooth face or skin? All you need is charcoal. Make a thick solution out of it & smear it on your body & leave it on for some hours before taking your bath. It will leave your skin smooth & fresh.

11. *#Stain_Removal*.
Do you have some stubborn stain in your kitchen, washroom or on your tiles? You actually need charcoal to get rid of it. I know you’re imagining how this black stainy product can actually remove stains right? Just try it, it works like magic.

12. *#Getting_rid_of_a_Bloated_Stomach*.
If you ate or drank something & feel bloated, charcoal is the best solution to get rid of the bloating.

13. *#Gets_Rid_of_bad_Cholesterol*.
Making a solution out of it & drinking helps eliminate all the bad cholesterol you have stored in you.

14. *#Ulcer_Treatment*.
Charcoal can treat all ulcers. Just make it a habit to always chew some.

RAVE TV boss, Agata Amata premiers her first cinematic movie ‘DISGUISE’

BY ESTHER ODILI

Fred Amata’s ex-wife and CEO of Rave TV, Agatha Amata premiers her first cinematic movie ‘Disguise’, at IMAX studios, Surulere, Lagos, on Thursday, February 15, 2018.
Photo: Agatha Amata (Executive producer), Chiagoziem Nwakanma, IK Ogbonna, Nancy Isime, Stephen Daniel, Victor Okpala (Producer)
Speaking with newsmen during the premier, the mother of two bares her mind on her experience, the inspiration behind the selection of cast as well as the funds from Bank of Industry (BOI).

She said: “Disguise is my first cinematic movie. We got the inspiration from a hot topic, what men really want from their women and vice versa. I became interested in the movie through the funds from Bank of Industry but we exhausted the funds the first week we started production.

“One interesting thing about this project was that my team, every one of them brought life into the production. This makes it a successful project. They worked tirelessly, from the cast, the crew, the writer, the director and the make-up artiste. They took this project and gave their all into it. It was not an easy task, I must confess but I encouraged me to push harder, which was worth it.

Every scene in the movie was not faked, we shot in London, shot in Nigeria, we used a standard higher institution and even in water, here in Lagos. We spent a lot of money from the pre- production stage till the final day, yesterday. But, I am really interested in movie-making but it cost a lot so I need to be encouraged so as to do more. There will be a part two of the movie if I’m supported.”

Meanwhile, the story revolves around a millionaire, who tasks a group of young adults to answer the old age question 'what do women want', in a bid to win the ultimate prize of N10m, a couple of friends decide to disguise themselves as the opposite sex to find the truth- The big question is what do men want and what do women want?
Lead Actress, Nancy Isime

The movie features top actors and actresses like Wale Ojo, Desmond Elliot, IK Ogbonna, Danile K. Daniel, Toyin Abraham and Nancy Isime, amongst others.

Shot by Wale Adebayo, directed by Desmond Elliot, produced by Victor Okpala, andwritten by Patrick K. Nnamani. The movie is set to be in cinemas from 2nd of March, 2018.

African Kids Versus African Parenting

African Kids.

When I was about nine years old, one Saturday morning, my mom travelled and my siblings weren't  around, it was only me and my Dad that were at home.

I decided to do something great, first to make my Dad happy and second to make my mom ask who did this when she returns.

I decided to mop the house. To make the places clean. I took the rubber bucket in the house while my dad was in his room, put some water and was carrying it to clean the room. Suddenly the bucket slipped from my hand and broke.

The bucket broke. I was sad. But I felt bad more because I couldn't fulfil my dream of making my Dad say "you are a good boy", that statement that always made me high inside. I had to first clean the spilled water and report my mistake to my Dad.

So when my Dad came out and saw the splashed water and broken bucket, I was still explaining how I wanted to mop the house and then...  He was getting a whip and he flogged me.

I wept and more so bitterness filled my heart. Oh this is a man I wanted to make happy, did he really see I was trying to be a good child, doing a job without being asked? I went to the back of the building and cried bitterly. As I was crying, I vowed that I will hate back, do evil and even leave that house. Revenge is what I wished.

Though little time cleansed the resolution but the experience is still here even after two decades.

Most of our African parents due to poverty, transferred aggression and impatience kill the genius in their kids.

They flog out the problem solver in their kids.

When the child would take one week to figure out how to Make an electric car with woods, how his parents would be called the parents of the one that invented a car... Just as he is about starting the construction, the mother would use a whip and format his brain.

"is it the expensive firewood that I bought that you are cutting, have you washed all the plates in this house it's now car you want to build, car builder, do you know how much firewood costs and do expect me to cook the food you and your brothers will eat with my hair?"

Each statement is sandwiched with a slap.

Such kills thinking and morale. It makes kid very bitter.

The African child has no support to be adventurous.

The African kid's innovation is killed when he's still trying to start.

The genius in him gets a stupid mockery.

His actions are judged and not his intentions.

Even if you have a mischievous child, causing problems everywhere, be careful with that little child. Be careful enough to separate when he is being unruly and when he's being innovative.

Ask him questions, if he starts crying before talking or if he keeps quiet, give him confidence to talk. When he takes scissors and cut your clothes because the tailor in him is shacking his head, the action may leave you furious at first such you can't remember his/her good intentions, you can scold him but the next day, make sure you go to the market and get her pieces of clothes to practice with. Tell her/him to sew all he wants.

A dream suppressed in a child may never rise again.

The African child do not have access to the best of schools, he doesn't have access to the best enabling environment, he lacks the best of teachers and resources. He is naturally disadvantaged to be an innovator, the last thing he needs is for his mind to be shut from exploring that equal advantage of thoughtfulness.

Meanwhile my Dad is a great man, just an African parents who can make decision catalyzed by poverty, many of our parents are great, but we the younger generation should be better. We should let our kids evolve.

How To Combine Your Career And Parenting

If You Love Your Child, Then Seriously, You Must Read This To The End!!!!!!
.......................................................................................................
.......................................................................................................

As a career mother with an extremely tight schedule, one of the biggest challenges I face is finding enough time in the day in order to balance motherhood and career.

So many times, I am so much into my work that I practically forget there should be time for my loved ones.

Then as a mother, I tend to have unreasonable expectations in trying to bring out the best of my children and dealing with personal development and maturation.

It got to a point where my son's' teacher called for a meeting, as she was worried about his academics.

The stress of raising up my kids to become future successful adults made me contemplate resigning from my high paying job.

I was so distraught on how best to raise them as a mother.

My friend and colleague noticed the strain on me and when we discussed, I reluctantly told her of all my worries and challenges faced as a parent.

She was so kind as she told me how she also had these same challenges in the past. She then told me about a book titled ‘'Raising Children Who Succeed'’ written by Grace Sadoh which a child psychologist advised her to get and which really helped her.

I must say even though I reluctantly bought the book, it has been one of the best investments in my whole life, as I now bond better with my son and his IQ has so increased, thereby resulting in so much improvements in his academics and his social interactions generally.

I would want to strongly urge all mothers to also buy this book today, as you never know what a small investment can make in your child's future and development.

One of the most powerful and fulfilling thing any parent can wish for is to raise a child who succeeds and this is exactly what this book teaches, with so many case studies and practical examples.

In this book you would learn;

1. What children really need

2. What they don't need ( you won't believe this)

3. How to teach social skills

4. Teaching them about money

5. How powerful role models can be and what role models they should have.

6. The one thing every parent must teach their children ( This is a secret most parents don't know about)

7. The place of books in a child's life.

If you are really serious about raising a child who would be successful in the future, then you don't have any excuse not to get this book today.

The price is going for a ridiculously cheap amount of N2,000, but this is only for a few days. After that, it goes back to the original price of N10,000. So if you put this off today, it may just have gone up to N10,000 by the time you would have come back for it.

The value contained in this book is worth far more than gold as they would be impacting the life of your child and determine how his future turns out.

They say, ''rich men have big libraries but poor men have big Tvs''.

This is simply because the rich and powerful spend a lot of resources in getting knowledge but the poor spend a lot in worthless items that, they mostly can do without.

WARNING: If you are not the reading type and you don't believe in always seeking for knowledge, then this E-Book is definitely not for you and you don't need to buy it.

Stop for a minute and think about it, what would you normally do with N2,000?

With N2,000 you would probably buy a recharge card that may probably finish in less than a week, or buy some food or do something else with it which may not really have any lasting value.

Now consider, is the wiser decision not in investing in something that will help your child become better and very successful in the future?

Something that would

-Help the child develop entrepreneurial skills

-Help the child reach his full potential

-Help the child grow up to become someone we would be very proud of

-Help the develop good social skills

-In summary, help them become very successful in life

These may not be things we can achieve all on our own but, having a guide which shows the way out is a very big boost!!!!

Any parent who really loves to see her child successful, has no excuse not getting this book today and start implementing the action points.

Also, if you order today, we would give you two bonus E-Books as a compliment.

One is titled ‘’Mindset For Parents’’ written by Dr. Carol Dweck (Ph.D.), a world renowned psychologist and the other is titled ‘’Proven Techniques To Increasing A Child’s IQ'', which shows what any parent can start doing today, to make a child have a higher IQ and become far more intelligent than his/her peers, also written by Grace Sadoh.

These extra two books are also worth so much in value and we are giving them out as bonuses, but for TODAY ONLY.

To The Man l Once Loved

I can't keep this love story to myself. I guess you have fallen in love before so don't wrinkle your brows at me because I  chose to make this public.

I met him years ago and trust me, he had all it takes for any lady to fall for. He was so special because I had never felt that way for anyone else. The first day we talked was so amazing. I could call him a thousand and one times just to talk with  him and he never made me feel I was disturbing him. I guess he loved me too.

But our conversation started becoming really boring, my love for him began to get sour, i barely called him like I used to, i just couldn't feel the burning love i had for him, he seemed like a stranger to me.  Are you guessing something went wrong? Yes! I met this new guy who stole my attention from him. But I still felt a vacuum in my heart. I felt incomplete.

One day, i summoned courage to call him again after a long time and to my greatest surprise, he answered me like he had been dying to hear from me. It seemed he had missed me badly but was only waiting for me to call. That moment, i realised that he loved me more than I  did.

You know that burning excitement you felt when you newly fell in love with Jesus. That time you just gave your life to Him and you couldn't stay a day without talking to him via prayers, reading his word or attending services. Now you got distracted, someone else stole your attention such that He now looks like a total stranger to you? While you are carried away with the new distraction, He is waiting for you to come back. Can I shock you? No one can ever love you like Jesus does. He gave His life for you. (John 3 :16).

Go back to your first love, His arms are wide open waiting to receive you.
And if you have never fallen in love with Him in your life, please do so tonight. It doesn't matter how far you are away from him. WALK TO HIM!

If You Eat Pig, Check This Out

13 PROBLEMS WITH PORK

1) A pig is a real garbage gut. It will eat anything including urine, excrement, dirt, decaying animal flesh, maggots, or decaying vegetables. They will even eat the cancerous growths off other pigs or animals.

2) The meat and fat of a pig absorbs toxins like a sponge. Their meat can be 30 times more toxic than beef or venison.

3) When eating beef or venison, it takes 8 to 9 hours to digest the meat so what little toxins are in the meat are slowly put into our system and can be filtered by the liver. But when pork is eaten, it takes only 4 hours to digest the meat. We thus get a much higher level of toxins within a shorter time.

4) Unlike other mammals, a pig does not sweat or perspire. Perspiration is a means by which toxins are removed from the body. Since a pig does not sweat, the toxins remain within its body and in the meat.

5) Pigs and swine are so poisonous that you can hardly kill them with strychnine or other poisons.

6) Farmers will often pen up pigs within a rattlesnake nest because the pigs will eat the snakes, and if bitten they will not be harmed by the venom.

7) When a pig is butchered, worms and insects take to its flesh sooner and faster than to other animal's flesh. In a few days the swine flesh is full of worms.

Swine and pigs have over a dozen parasites within them, such as tapeworms, flukes, worms, and trichinae. There is no safe temperature at which pork can be cooked to ensure that all these parasites, their cysts, and eggs will be killed.

9) Pig meat has twice as much fat as beef. A 3 oz T bone steak contains 8.5 grams of fat; a 3 oz pork chop contains 18 grams of fat. A 3 oz beef rib has 11.1 grams of fat; a 3 oz pork spare rib has 23.2 grams of fat.

10) Cows have a complex digestive system, having four stomachs. It thus takes over 24 hours to digest their vegetarian diet causing its food to be purified of toxins. In contrast, the swine's one stomach takes only about 4 hours to digest its foul diet, turning its toxic food into flesh.

11) The swine carries about 30 diseases which can be easily passed to humans. This is why God commanded that we are not even to touch their carcase (Leviticus 11:8).

12) The trichinae worm of the swine is microscopically small, and once ingested can lodge itself in our intestines, muscles, spinal cord or the brain. This results in the disease trichinosis. The symptoms are sometimes lacking, but when present they are mistaken for other diseases, such as typhoid, arthritis, rheumatism, gastritis, MS, meningitis, gall bladder trouble, or acute alcoholism.

13) The pig is so poisonous and filthy, that nature had to prepare him a sewer line or canal running down each leg with an outlet in the bottom of the foot. Out of this hole oozes pus and filth his body cannot pass into its system fast enough. Some of this pus gets into the meat of the

UNICEF, an agent of popularizing child right

By United Nations Children Emergency Fund {UNICEF}, is a United Nations {UN} program headquatered in New York City that provides humanitarian and developmental assistance to children and mothers.
It was created by United Nations general assembly on the 13th of December 1946, to provide emergency food and health care to children in countries that had been devastated by world war 2. It was founded by Ludwik Rajchman and served from 1946 to 1965.
Speaking with a communication specialist and a member of UNICEF Jeffery Njoku about how child right can be popularised, he said "it is done at different levels"
He made this statement in an interview with the Echoes newspaper at Nigerian Institute of journalism {NIJ} on.... December 2017, saying the media, interpersonal communication and other methods of communication can be used to reach people about child right.
Mr Njoku also mentioned the need to create awareness about children using various publication about fact of life on what it takes to handle a child, exclusive breast feeding and taking care of minor illness. He said, "the publication has been translated to many Nigerian languages which are evenly distributed".
However, Mr Njoku expressed his opinion about sex education. He said, "parent should take charge about what to teach children about the do's and don't of sex. Teach them about life skills which include power to say No, power to know what is right or wrong and how to act o  certain situation.

Rumors Of Fulani Herdsmen attackers on Lagos, Ibadan Expressway Has Been Cleared By Ogun State Police

AZ:5310/OGS/PRO/VOL.6/24             07/02/2018
POLICE PRESS RELEASE, OGUN STATE POLICE COMMAND
NO. 177 DATED 07/02/2018

The attention of Ogun State Police Command has been once again drawn to an alleged attack by herdsmen along Lagos/Ibadan expressway as well as an anonymous security alert letter written by a faceless student group urging students and members of public not to travel along that route. The faceless group also posted a simulated voice recording on social media where some people are crying and pleading with their alleged attackers not to kill them.

The Command wouldn’t have dignify the disgruntled elements with a response but in order to allay the fears of public, the true security situation along that axis has to be made known to all and sundry.
To start with, there is no any attack by herdsmen or any other group in all the stretch of Express Ways across and   within Ogun State, we make bold to say that the alleged attack been posted on social media is a lie from pit of hell fire been peddled by those who are not happy with the peaceful atmosphere in Ogun State. The picture attached to the post is a picture of an accident which occurred about Eight years ago exactly on the 31st of July 2010 to be precised; while the purported voice recording was a stage managed one.

The Lagos/Ibadan express road is one of the busiest roads in Nigeria and the Command is not oblivious of that fact, for that reason, there has been massive deployment of Police operatives from FSARS, Anti-Kidnapping/cultist unit, PMF as well as Conventional Policemen on surveillance and monitoring operatives and patrols to ward off any act of criminal activities on that road.

In as much as there is freedom of speech as guaranteed by the constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria, such freedom does not licensed anybody to be peddling dangerous rumours that can cause breach of public peace. In view of   that, the Command is investigating those behind the senseless rumour with the view of bringing them to justice as they can be best described as enemy of the State.

We hereby enjoined the good and peace loving people of the State to discountenance the rumour and go about their lawful businesses without any fear of harassment or attack from anybody or group. Any suspicious movement or gathering should be reported to the Police and other sister security agencies as quick as possible and quick and adequate response will be accorded such report.

HEALTH: Causes and ways to manage asthma attack.

By Busola Badmus.

The cause of asthma is poorly understood, but it may be partly inherited.

Everyone's lungs are  sensitive to different things such as pollen, air pollution, or strong chemicals. In simple terms, people with asthma have lungs that are more sensitive than average.

Based on findings there are 3 processes in the lungs that produce asthma symptoms.

First, the inner linings of the airways become inflamed. They swell up, leaving less room for air to pass through.

Second, the muscles around the airways can tighten, closing them further.

Finally, the airways produce mucus in response to the inflammation, clogging the shrunken tubes.

Asthma is in part an allergic response. It may be triggered by some external substance that particularly irritates your lungs. These triggers are often small protein particles called allergens . Some people are sensitive to more than one trigger.

Common allergens include: animal dander, cockroach particles, grass, tree, and ragweed pollen, house dust mites, moulds and so on.

Other people can get an asthma attack from something they swallow rather than breathe.
Examples of these triggers include: anti-inflammatory, medications, nuts or shrimp, preservatives found in some drinks or foods.

While most people develop asthma as children, adults can become asthmatic by being exposed to allergens, irritants, or occupational sensitizers for a long time.

People who work with the following products may be at increased risk: antibiotics, cotton and flax , detergents, foams and paints, grains and cereals, insulation and packaging materials.

Asthma attacks can also be triggered by non-allergic irritants, such as: laughing hard, crying, shouting, smog and smoke, strong smells (e.g., paint fumes, perfumes, cleaning products),suddenly breathing cold air, vigorous exercise, viral infections such as the common cold or the flu.

In a tertiary Institution like Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ), students are faced with frequent attacks of asthma.

Mrs Triumphant Omotosho the nurse of the Institute, who spoke with Ogbaexpress on how the student with asthma and the school can reduce the reoccurence to its bearest minimum, said, "the major problem with asthmatic patient is that they don't move around with their inhaler".

Omotosho said, some of them have the crisis over night but decides to hold it till they collapse and are rushed to the clinic, instead of using one drug, they will end up using three to four drugs to resourcitate them because they have stressed themselves.

She stated some ways which the student can reduce the attack, 'by moving around with Inhailer, using face mask where necessary, staying away from what they are allegic to, using their prescribed drugs during dry season, staying in a well ventilated place during functions in the school hall and they can take a walk outside the class to receive fresh air after each lectures.

While she also advised that the school can help to reduce the crisis  by providing more Air Condition's  to make the class more ventilated for learning and the classrooms should be well dusted".

Gabrella Akoanu, an HND2 student of the Nigerian Institute of Journalism also speake with Ogbaexpress, on what triggers her own asthma crisis, she said 'what causes the attacks is when she inhail strong perfumes, conjection in classroom , stress from day's events and frequent climbing of staircase which affects the breathing.

Also with Ogbaexpress, is Alice Ajakaiye, an HND 2 student of the Nigerian Institute of Journalism who said ' some of her colleagues knows quite right that some of them are dealing with Asthma crisis but they won't stop taking 'CODINE SWEET'.

Codine sweet according to Ajakaiye smells in a way that triggers her Asthma crisis, she also complained about people having different smells due to their perfumes and the Air Condition's in classroom are not enough to circulate to take some of these smells away.

Ajakaye also commended the school clinic for their support always towards the Asthmatic patient and how they usually play a motherly roles when some of them are faced with this crisis. She also urge the school management to endeavour to provide more AC's so as to make the classroom conducive for all.

Asthma crisis may not be eradicate fully but can be managed, so all asthmatic patient are hereby enjoyed to take precaution so that their crisis will not be taken for epilepsy if cuts them unaware where no friends and family to help out.

Eko Disco Decry Attacks On Staff

 By Ayomide Ayano

Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) has decried the incessant attacks on staff of the company in some communities within the company’s operational territory.
