Demarcation of Shops: Business Owners Express Satisfaction

Business owners in Ogba have expressed their satisfaction over the decision of the Lagos state government to demarcate their shops from the main road.
The government in the last few weeks urged the shop owners and retailers to create a space between their shops and the drainage and to avoid unforeseen incidents.

Speaking with Ogba Express, a computer operator, who declined her identity said that the decision of government is very timely and important at this present moment.

"The demarcation of our shops from the drainage is very good and also important, since it is for a good course we will benefit, so I really support it and it is a welcome decision"

Another retailer, Emeka, said "the government has done its best to foster the growth and development of our community, which I believe that, will also spread to other parts of the state, so i don't have a biased mind over, more so, the government decides what is good for its people and we cannot counter their decision"

"It will also help in cleaning of our space and taking optimum caution towards dumping of refuse anywhere, since the state government is taking a big step supporting cleanliness of the environment" He added

Meanwhile, a bookseller, Chukwu Ose, argued that the decision was a good initiative and a right step in the right direction, adding that the closure of shops have affected their sales negatively.

He said ''there are some shop owners that have lost so much regarding millions of Naira, even within that period of closure and some are still yet to open their shops till now, is that not a bad decision in part of the government

"Also, the good side was that will aid in preventing unforeseen disasters from the road and will also create pedestrians’' road aside from the main road" He added.
